ABOUT
WELCOME to
i walk your dog
As responsible dog owners, we strive for our companion pet to be happy, healthy and well mannered. At i walk your dog I believe the three key essentials to ensure these are EXERCISE, TRAINING and PLAY.
Why choose i walk your dog?
Because your dog matters!
IVANKA FLEMING
Puppy & Dog Trainer
Hey, I’m Ivanka and I am the owner of iWalk Your Dog. I am married with two young children.
For 11 years I commuted to work and with all of the early starts and late returns, I would regularly arrive home exhausted and ready to collapse in front of the TV to unwind.
Over those years I was nagged by a sense of guilt in leaving my first dog Holly, a Golden Retriever and the inspiration for my career change, home alone all day. On returning home, finding the time to cook dinner, look after my family, as well as taking Holly for a well-deserved walk and trying to fit in some training was more than a challenge!
When the opportunity arose to swap the suits and heels for cargo pants, sneakers and a tonne of dog fur and slobber to create iWalk Your Dog, I jumped at the chance in the sincere belief that I could help other dog owners who find themselves in a similar situation.
When I first started iWalk, it was with the intention of giving dogs their daily walk and putting their owners minds at ease. Over time, I decided I wanted to do more for owners and the humble family dog. I wanted to learn how dogs communicate and understand what motivates them and find out why they behave the way they do so they can truly be a part of the family and live happily in our community.
I gained my qualifications in Dog Training and Behaviour and authorised to conduct Puppy Classes on Behalf of Steve & Vicki Austin. http://vickiaustin.com.au/.
I believe that with positive socialisation experiences and effective training in puppyhood, and specialised remedial training in adulthood, we can help dogs be the best family pet they can be and prevent them from developing the undesirable behaviours that make them a chore to walk or difficult to keep at home, sadly forcing some owners, to feel as though their only option is to surrender their beloved family dog.
I offer a holistic approach in dog walking and training and use science -based positive reinforcement methods -which is fun, easy and effective for the whole family. Thanks for your interest in my services , I’d love to be part of your journey and help transform the relationship you have with your dog.
